The last few days have been so amazing.
a few words to descibe it... I LOVE JAPAN
Being in japan with no schedule I have really lost track of time and the date. Not having a cell phone is the best thing ever. And not having anything to do in a beautiful city is even better!
The other day I went to See the Cherry Blossoms (sakura) And have a picnic with my friends ( I believe having a picnic at the cherry blossoms is call Ohanami.. but don't hold it to me). We took the subway and got off and walked down the Kamogama river. Which is so beautiful! My Taiwanese friends said that during the summer many people go down and sit by the river and get wasted. Something to look forward too!
When we got to our destination we had to buy our food. Now picture me in this situation...Im in Japan... land of amazing food....where do you go for lunch? YEp! you guessed it! 711! I was totally craving a fat twirling hot dog thats been roasting for only god knows how long. SYKE. The food was actually really good. I bought some weird triangle of fish (have no idea what kind) wrapped in rice then wrapped in seaweed. AND there is an actual art to opening the wrapper. In America the fat man trying to eat the jumbo hot dog would be so annoyed with how to open it he would have just eaten the wrapper. No joke. But from there we walked through this amazing temple (no idea what it was called...) and in the back of it was this Huge park filled with people and cherry blossoms. So beautiful!
After that my friends and I walked (SO MUCH) to more temples and then finally ended up at Nijo Castel. There was a Huge garden with Cherry blossoms in it and since it was probably around 9 pm they were all lit up. It was AMAZING.
Sakura in Nijo Castel:
Since it was late and we had walked about 10+ miles that day and we were freezing to death (no joke I felt like crying like a bitch I was so uncomfortable) We went to this Chinese restaurant for dinner... Let me paint this picture for you. Bright fluorescent lights, crying babies, and creepy waiter uniforms. I ordered my dinner (some ramen dish I think) and it came and the top layer was a jiggling layer of jelly shit. fucking the grossest thing ever. Then there was some sort of fish thing on it too. I wouldnt have eaten that if you payed me. Luckily it was only like 300 en which is like $3.
Here are some pictures from that day
SUUZZ!
HAHA creepy
Smoking on the job!
Another day my friend Laura from Finland and I biked around Iwakura (where I live). I guess you could say it is more like the country. Just super quiet and neighborhoody. We bought lunch at the grocery store (Inari, Mochi, Beer, and tempura) and had a picnic in the park. After we biked more to another area and looked at more cherry blossoms and drank more beer and just had an amazing time. One of my favorite days so far!

Iwakura:
This guy was just walking around in Iwakura. Loved his outfit!
Last night some friends and I (almost all the international exchange students) went to this sushi restaurant which was my first sushi eating experience since being in Japan. My friend Ning (from Thailand) took us to a restaurant Called Kapa Sushi. I guess it is not the first choice Sushi restaurant for someone who has a lot of money to spend on Sushi but this place was so funny. 4 of us sat at the counter and Sushi literally goes by on a little train type thing and you just pull the plate of sushi you want off. I am so surprised that this is not more popular in America. Seeing as the eater just sits on their ass and sushi literally goes by right in front of your face and you take whatever you want...And the hot water for tea dispenser is right in front of you too. Lazy man sushi. Each plate has about 2 pieces of Sushi on it and The best part is each plate costs 105 en. ($1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) I had a field day in there. I had 7 plates. (THATS RIGHT!) Could of had more too. I had like 3 tunas (Maguro), 1 Unagi, 1 Inari, 2 tempura prawn. SO TASTEY. walked out spending just about 700 en.
We got back to Kino-ryo minami (my dorm) where Otoosan and Okaasan and other international students were all sitting around and drinking beers and liquor and eating food and candies. (Otoosan and Okaasan is a couple who live and take care of the dorms. Basically like an RA. Otoosan means Father and Okaasan means mother.) It is so weird because I do not speak Japanese and some of the other international students do I just sit around and listen. I feel super dumb when someone says something funny and everyone laughs. Sometimes I laugh too, which makes me feel even more stupid. But when I do try to speak japanese it either gets really quiet or they make fun of me. Its great!
Besides that. I love it here. Sorry mom and dad. I am not coming back home! (But feel free to visit!)
This was just too cute!
Maybe Emily and I should start wearing the same clothes
I love japan
Totoro!
Just some cute meow
