school times

Today was the first day in class where we didn't sketch. I was so happy. We made Nori which is the paste you use for Katazome. (read up http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Katazome) It was so fun. Because they do this a lot to me I normally was asked to be the guinea pig and do all the examples with Imamura Sensei. The paste smells REALLY good but tastes REALLY bad. Today was a great day.

Sachi and Imamura sensei getting down with making Nori:

Sensei and I kneading the nori:

After you Knead you make into doughnut shapes. I don't know why.

Then you bundle them up in this cute way and steam them for two hours.

After you mix some other stuff into it (calcium and salt and water) and mix until its really soft.... I don't really know how to describe it... This is Hana. She can speak a little bit of English. She's really cool and funny and goes up to my shoulder.

These are just some photos of my class mates. I love this school.
I dont know how their knees still work after sitting like this. But when the teacher gives demonstrations this is how the choose to take notes. its amazing:

Hana, Naho, and I looking good. (yea, thats three chins you're counting...)

HUGE cat fight after school.

After Hannah went to buy Tsunagis which are like aprons but in a jumpsuit form. We thought it was really important because everyone wears them and we needed to fit it. Plus they are just really cool.

After we got Okonomiyaki. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Okonomiyaki) Quite the experience. While eating they had the TV on and we watched Japans guinness book of world records. which is completely pointless. Examples: one person did 5 arubix cubes in less than 2 min, one person jump roped 162 times in 30 seconds, one person went up these weird set of stairs on his head, one man cut watermelons on a fat girls stomach without cutting her, and one guy ate about 22 meatball things in less than 30 seconds or something stupid like that. it was great.

Man cooking:

Okonamiyakis cooking with weird jump rope girls face on the TV:

My ebi (shrimp) Okonamiyaki. yea. thats mayo on top. what up.
